As a Financial Advisor, Bret believes that there are many different aspects to be considered in planning for one’s financial future, but in order to achieve those long-term goals, investors will need to accumulate enough assets to make those goals a reality. Over 20 years, he has noticed that too many investors focus primarily on the planning side and not enough on the investment process. Is there a plan for managing their assets when markets are under performing as well as when times are good? The answer to that question may determine if goals are achieved or goals have to be re-adjusted. Bret’s focus is not only on helping his clients set their goals, but in also managing their assets in a way that gives them the best chance to realize those dreams. Bret is a native Texan, born in Houston and raised in San Marcos. He is a graduate of Baylor University and also has an MBA in Finance from Dallas Baptist University. Early in his career, he worked in the real estate and homebuilding industry before moving into the financial services industry. After working at several investment firms in the Dallas area, Bret opened his own independent firm in 2005. In 2014, Bret re-established his firm as a Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm through the State of Texas doing business as Wilson Investment Services, LLC. He lives in Rockwall with his wife of 32 years, Leslie. They have three happily married children and two grandchildren. When he’s not advising clients, watching the markets or reading his favorite investment blogs, Bret enjoys playing golf, building rustic furniture, visiting his kids and grandkids and going on mission trips with the youth at his church, LakePointe Church in Rockwall.
